Bear Smart Alberton
The mission of Bear Smart Alberton is to reduce human-bear conflicts in Alberton, Montana and the surrounding area. Alberton is located in west-central Montana along the Clark Fork River between the Bitterroot Range to the south and the Ninemile Divide to the north. The town has a long history of black bear conflicts and grizzly bears have been documented in the area in recent years as they expand their range. Alberton falls within a potential linkage area between the Northen Continental Divide and Bitterroot Ecosystems.
- Join us! The Bear Smart Alberton working group meets the last Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Alberton Community Center
